Molecular Frequency of H₂O Water
The Molecule of Life - Application in Vibrational Sound Therapy
Water makes up 70% of our body, which is about 50 liters in an adult.
At Naturasounds, we have calculated its molecular resonance frequency at 53.70 Hz, based on its molar mass (18.015268 g/mol) and the Einstein-Planck equation (E = hf = mc²).
This frequency is the foundation of our therapeutic tuning forks dedicated to water.
How is the H2O water frequency calculated?
The formula used is based on the simplified Einstein-Planck equation:
Molecular mass × 2.98095104304559 = Frequency (in THz)
For water (H2O, molecular mass 18.015268 Da):
- 18.015268 × 2.98095104304559 = 53.716 THz
- After transposing 71 octaves into the audible range: 53.70 Hz (precisely 107.398746 Hz)
This frequency of 107.40 Hz is what we call the fundamental frequency of water.
The harmonic series of water: from 26.85 Hz to 1718.48 Hz
Based on this fundamental, water possesses a complete harmonic series:
| Frequency | Octave | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| 26.85 Hz | -2 | Deep meditation |
| 53.70 Hz | -1 | Relaxation |
| 107.40 Hz | 0 (fundamental) | Harmonization |
| 214.81 Hz | +1 | Activation |
| 429.62 Hz | +2 | Integration (close to A4) |
| 859.24 Hz | +3 | Subtlety |
| 1718.48 Hz | +4 | Finesse |
Listen to these frequencies in our album H2O Water Sound Frequencies, recorded in 24-bit / 48 kHz.
429.62 Hz and 432 Hz: what is the difference?
These are two different frequencies, often confused:
- 432 Hz: historical tuning, sometimes called the "frequency of nature," used by certain composers and musicians since the Baroque era.
- 429.62 Hz: the second octave of our calculated water frequency (107.40 Hz), obtained mathematically from its molecular mass.
The difference between the two is only 2.38 Hz (approximately -9 cents) — imperceptible to the ear, but significant in our precision calculations.
In practice:
- For sound therapy targeting body water: we recommend 53.70 Hz, 104.70 Hz, or 429.62 Hz.
- For music: 432 Hz remains an excellent, widely documented, and used choice. Renaud Ruhlmann discusses it in his work, as he has written several articles and conducted research since 2016 on the subject of 432 Hz. This led to the refined frequency of 429.62 Hz, which he produced in collaboration with Prof. Marc Henry in late 2019.

What does science say about frequencies and water?
What is scientifically established:
- Frequency calculation using the Einstein-Planck equation is mathematically correct.
- Mechanical vibrations have a demonstrated effect on tissues (a principle used in vibrational physical therapy).
- The human body's composition of water (approximately 70%) is an established physiological fact.
- Near-infrared spectroscopy studies have shown that certain sound frequencies (432 Hz, 440 Hz) can temporarily alter the molecular organization of water.
What remains debated or unvalidated:
- The theory of "water memory" or "structured water" is a subject of scientific debate: some chemists point out that water's molecular structures reorganize in a few picoseconds.
- The effects felt during the use of a tuning fork (relaxation, sense of well-being) have not been the subject of double-blind clinical trials to date.
We prefer to present this approach as a complementary wellness and relaxation practice, to be explored in addition to — never as a replacement for — appropriate medical care.
How to use the H2O tuning fork?
Simple use for relaxation:
- Activate the tuning fork by tapping it gently against a soft surface.
- Bring it close to your ear or place it gently on the sternum or hands.
- Let the vibration continue until it naturally fades (15-20 seconds).
- Repeat during a 10 to 15-minute session, in a calm or meditative setting.
Suggested frequency of use: 2 to 3 times per week, depending on how you feel.
Frequently asked questions
Is the H2O tuning fork a medical device? No. It is a wellness and relaxation tool. It does not replace medical advice or treatment.
What is the difference between the 53.70 Hz and 432 Hz tuning forks? 107.40 Hz is calculated mathematically from the molecular mass of water. 432 Hz is a historical musical tuning fork. Both belong to closely related vibrational families.
Can the H2O tuning fork be used in music? It is designed for therapeutic and relaxation use rather than musical tuning, but there is nothing to stop you from exploring it for creative purposes.
In summary
The 53.70 Hz H2O tuning fork is based on rigorous calculation derived from the molecular mass of water via the Einstein-Planck equation. It is a sound therapy and wellness tool to be integrated as a complementary practice into a relaxation routine — with transparency regarding what science confirms and what remains, to this day, clinically unproven.
